Yesterday, an confirmation about the Xiaomi Mi 5 has come that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor. The company’s global VP Hugo Barra put up a tweet last night about Xiaomi Mi5 finally getting in his hands.
Hugo tweeted that a batch of Xiaomi Mi 5 had rolled off the production line and he’s already got his hands on one. He confirmed the fact that the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset, and the CEO Bin Lin had also said last year that the Mi 5 is “so worth the wait.”
Yesterday, Xiaomi co-founder Liwan Jiang took to Weibo to confirm that the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset. Further, Jiang also revealed that the flagship smartphone will launch after the Chinese Spring Festival, which falls on February 8.

On the software front, it is expected to run on MIUI 7.
