Samsung’s flagship lineup is always committed to latest Android updates, and after Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, it’s time for Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge to receive the update. Last Month Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge got the Android 7.0 update as Samsung committed. As per the schedule, the update is to supposed to drop by the end of February, but somehow it got delayed due to quality issues and bugs.
This was confirmed when SamMobile users reported that they received the new Android version today on their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets. One of the users from the UK provided the screenshot as firmware version G925FXXU5EQBG. SamMobile also received reports from other European countries, such as Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.
As of now, it is not confirmed that the update is limited to Europe, or not. However, even if it is, it’s expected that it will make its way to other markets shortly. If in case you also receive the update either on Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge then kindly share with us on any of our social media platforms.
Talking about the update itself, the file size is 1.3 GB and brings quite a few improvements with it. Some of them include – new interface i.e. a new Samsung Experience, which is much cleaner than what it was before. The lighter colors and rounded icons are easier on the eyes, the notification shade is easier to comprehend. Also, all toggle icons in the shade light up in the blue “active” color when enabled. Another addition is Samsung Cloud, a cloud-storage backup feature that allows users to use up to 15 GB for free. It automatically syncs native apps, such as Contacts, Calendar, and Notes, so all your important data can be safe.
