Reliance has made it official by giving out the Reliance Jio 4G SIM cards without an invitation, hence now the network is open to all. Last month, the company had started an invite system where Reliance employees could bring up to 10 of their family and friends to try out the next-gen high-speed 4G LTE services.
But everything is not as simple as it looks, Reliance Jio SIM card can availed through registration via Reliance Jio’s official website, also the user has to buy a LYF-branded smartphone in order to get the SIM card.
Not only this, The company is also bundling a couple of offers like unlimited data for the first three months along with 4,500 minutes of talktime. The LYF-branded smartphones with 4G LTE and VoLTE support and 4G SIM cards are also available across Reliance Digital Stores and Reliance Digital Mini stores in India. Reliance Digital is also in talks with other retail chains such as Croma Retail to sell the LYF smartphones, ET reports.
Since December, Reliance’s official retailer, Reliance Digital, has launched a range of LYF-branded Android smartphones with price starting at Rs 3,999 and up to Rs 19,399. One of the key highlights of these smartphones is that they support 4G LTE for data and VoLTE for HD voice calling. Within three months of its launch, LYF has also managed to become India’s fifth-largest smartphone vendor with a market share of seven percent.
Along with faster connectivity, the Reliance Jio is also pushing its app ecosystem, which includes apps such as JioChat, JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioMags, JioXpressNews, JioDrive, JioMoney and JioSecurity.
