OnePlus hosted an event in India yesterday, where it announced its Make in India plans. Unlike earlier reports though, it didn’t unveil the rumored OnePlus X. The smartphone has been spotted on Amazon India.
The listing on Amazon India claims that the smartphone will be called ‘OnePlus Mini’. The listing was spotted by TrueTech.
According to the leak, the smartphone features a 5-inch 1080p display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6795 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. This too is in contrast with recent reports claiming that it could feature a Snapdragon 801 processor.
Further, the smartphone is also said to feature 32GB internal storage, dual-camera setup and a fingerprint sensor. According to the listing, the OnePlus Mini is also said to feature a force-sensing touchscreen developed by Synaptics. In terms of functionality, it is said to be similar to the 3D Touch display on the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
While OnePlus didn’t announce a new smartphone at its event, a recent quote by OnePlus India GM Vikas Agrawal still leaves the window open for a smartphone launch. “We’re introducing a new device by the end of this year. Diwali would be the ideal time, but next quarter for sure. It would be a global launch, but India will be the biggest focus,” V. Agrawal had said.
