After the launch of Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 only in China on August 13, the MIUI 7 ROM will be unveiled on August 19 in India.
In the event Hugo Barra will unveil the new features of MIUI 7. The event will be held in New Delhi, India, for which Xiaomi has started taking registrations. The MIUI 7 will be built on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Information about what’s new with the MIUI 7 is lacking at the moment. The company’s current latest MIUI 6 runs on many Xiaomi smartphones like the Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Note Pro and several others. The Redmi Note 4G and the Redmi 1S have also got the MIUI 6 update. It is expected that Hugo Barra would throw some light on which devices will MIUI 7 be seen.
Since now it is clear that Xiaomi has tied up with Foxconn to manufacture their devices in India, and hence, the new Redmi 2 Prime was made in India which is priced @ Rs. 6,999. It features a 4.7-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
The smartphone also features 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel selfie camera, 2,200mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on MIUI 6 based on Android KitKat.
