Lumia 950 XL announced by Microsoft

Today in New York, Microsoft Launched it’s Lumia 950 XL which is the flagship device for this year from Microsoft. The smartphone comes loaded with full Windows 10 operating system.

Lumia 950 XL also supports Microsoft’s much touted Continuum feature. It lets users connect their smartphones to a full-size monitor using a dedicated dock. It comes loaded with Microsoft Office Universal app, Cortana, One drive and the Windows Hello biometric scanner for added security.

The Lumia 950 XL is priced at $649 (approximately Rs 42,200) and will be available starting November this year. However, there is no word on the Indian pricing and availability yet.

The Lumia 950 XL runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset which is a octa-core processor (Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57) with Adreno 430 GPU paired with 3GB of RAM. Also offers 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 200GB via a microSD card. A  5.7-inch QHD  AMOLED capacitive display (1440 x 2560 pixels) at 518 ppi covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection to keep scratches away.

It sports a 20-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and a front facing 5-megapixel selfie camera. With 3,340 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm’s QuickCharge and Wireless Charging, the smartphone will include connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C connector are also present in the smartphone.

Lumia 950 XL competes other android devices like OnePlus Two, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, etc which also offer the same USB type C connector.
