LG has announced an entry-level smartphone, called the LG K3. The smartphone is priced at $80 (Rs 5,500 approximately) and is available in the U.S. right now, it’s available for purchase from Boost Mobile as well as Virgin Mobile. LG says the smartphone will be available in other markets starting next month.
Earlier this month LG had announced that it will be targeting the sub-Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 price segments. The company said that it will soon launch five to six devices in the sub-Rs 15,000 category. Earlier this week LG introduced its X series of smartphones by launching the LG X Mach, X Power, X Style and X Max. The LG X series targets the low-end and budget categories. Right now there is no word from the company as to when these devices will be available in India.
If launched in India with the same price tag, the LG K3 will face tough competition from the likes of Intex Cloud Fame, Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus and InFocus Bingo 50 entry-level Android smartphones.
