Blackberry KEYone Announced with SD 625 & QWERTY keyboard at MWC 2017

Blackberry has revealed their mystery device at MWC 2017 which was earlier codenamed ‘Mercury’ as KEYone. While the Blackberry KeyOne seems like it was designed by BlackBerry, from now on the hardware will be outsourced to TCL, a Chinese company that also owns the Alcatel brand.

BlackBerry KEYone - 2The Blackberry KEYone packs a 4.5-inch (1620 x 1080 pixels) display with 3:2 aspect ratio and has a 4-row QWERTY physical backlit keyboard with keys that respond to touch gestures, support for flick typing, up to 52 customizable shortcuts and the fingerprint sensor is built into the spacebar.

The device is powered by Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box with security and productivity suite from BlackBerry. This blackberry device comes with an anodized aluminum frame and a soft touch textured back. It is powered by an

Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC, packs 3GB of RAM and a 3505mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that charge up to 50% in just 36 minutes and a USB Type-C port.

The keyboard is touch enabled, just like on other BlackBerrys, allowing you to scroll by swiping over the keyboard. A new feature lets you program all the hardware keys to do something on a long press. For instance, “B” can launch the browser, or “F” could launch Facebook. The traditional programmable BlackBerry “Convenience Key” is on the side.

The BlackBerry KEYone comes in Black color and is priced at US$ 549 (Rs. 36,590 approx.) / 599 Euros / 499 GBP depending on the market. It will be available globally starting from April.
