Yesterday, an confirmation about the Xiaomi Mi 5 has come that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor. The company’s global VP Hugo Barra put up a tweet last night about Xiaomi Mi5 finally getting in his hands.

Hugo tweeted that a batch of Xiaomi Mi 5 had rolled off the production line and he’s already got his hands on one. He confirmed the fact that the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset, and the CEO Bin Lin had also said last year that the Mi 5 is “so worth the wait.”

Yesterday, Xiaomi co-founder Liwan Jiang took to Weibo to confirm that the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset. Further, Jiang also revealed that the flagship smartphone will launch after the Chinese Spring Festival, which falls on February 8.

There are quite a alot of rumor going about the Xiaomi Mi 5, as per the leaks, Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a design similar to the Mi Note, but with curved glass up front and very thin bezels. There is also a physical home button on the front, which is expected to be the world’s smallest and fastest fingerprint sensor.

Mi 5 could pack a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB internal storage options. It is also expected to feature a 16-megapixel rear camera, 13-megapixel selfie camera, 3,600mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support and NFC. On the software front, it is expected to run on MIUI 7.
