amazon prime in India

Finally Amazon Prime comes to India for Rs. 499!!

Amazon Prime, a very popular premium service in the US has now come to India. Amazon says this service as ‘Amazon Prime = Amazon Fulfilled + Free Fast Delivery’. The consumer can opt for Amazon Prime by paying Rs,499 per year, which is for trial period whereas the actual price is Rs 999 per year. As of now amazon hasn’t revealed for how long this offer is valid. Currently, Amazon India is also offering a 60-day free trial service for those who want to try out the service first.

Amazon’s competitor in India, Flipkart had launched a similar service long time back by the name of Flipkart’s First. The major advantage of opting for Amazon Prime is the free shipping with no minimum order size. Users opting for this service will also get their products delivered faster with one-day and two-day delivery option without paying anything extra. Prime members can also opt for same-day delivery by Rs 50 extra, which is still less than Rs 150 paid as compared to normal delivery.

Amazon prime is available to pin-codes in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and few more cities across India. Not all products are eligible for Prime service, though, and users will need to keep a lookout for the Prime logo beside a listed item.

Apart from delivery, Amazon Prime members will also get early access to deals on the e-commerce site. Amazon promises access to deals up to 30 minutes before they are available for the rest of the buyers. When searching for deals, one needs to select the ‘Prime Early Access’ filter in search to find lightning deals for the day.

Unfortunately, Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Music aren’t available in India yet, like there are in other countries like the US. Amazon says they are coming to India, without saying when.
