Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update Rolls Out for Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, 5X

Google has started rolling out the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update for few Nexus Devices and Pixel Devices. Android 7.1.2 beta was released back in January, and as Google had announced earlier, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 is not getting this update. The update brings several bug fixes, new features, and general performance/stability improvements.

Android 7.1.2 includes:

  • Improved fingerprint swipe performance
  • Bluetooth connectivity improvements
  • Battery usage alerts

Google said,

“Some of the other fixes are with the early shutdown issue, a fix for the small number of users experiencing pink banding on the camera, and a fix to the audio popping issue some users were experiencing at high volumes.”

Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) factory images & OTA images are now available for

  • Pixel / Pixel XL (N2G47E/N2G47J)
  • Pixel C (N2G47D)
  • Nexus 6P: (N2G47H)
  • Nexus 5X (N2G47F)
  • Nexus Player (N2G47H)

You can download factory images and OTA images for these devices from the Google Developers website here if you don’t have the OTA update yet. Devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will also receive this final version.
